Lou celi It’s no secret at the information industry is an incestuous business.  It’s not uncommon for people to hop to and from Bloomberg and Thomson, Factiva and LexisNexis, D&B and OneSource and make several intermediate career stops along the way.  It’s also the rare information professional who spends their entire career at one firm.  For someone to stay at the same publisher for over twenty years is extremely unusual and when that person decides to move on, it certainly meets the “end of an era” criteria.  Especially when that person is Lou Celi.
Lou Celi has been with the Economist Intelligence Unit since 1986 and recently decided it was time to try something new. Anyone who has attended SLA or London Online a couple of times in the past 20 years would have to have run into Lou – constant motion, non-stop deal-making, always looking for the next sale.  Alacra has been doing business with Lou and the EIU for about 10 years and its been one of the best publisher relationships we’ve had.  Much of that is due to Lou and his team.  We wish Lou luck in whatever he decides to pursue next and we’re sure the EIU will continue to be a class act largely because of the team that Lou built.
