Tell me about Exchange Data
Exchange Data International (EDI) is a well-established provider of multiple asset class worldwide securities reference and corporate actions data. We specialize in the integration, aggregation and flexible delivery of structured data to facilitate investment research, administration and processing.. Founded in 1994, EDI started with 3 members of staff covering only information from the London Stock Exchange. We now have over 300 employees sourcing, collecting and delivering corporate actions, pricing and security reference data from all over the world.
What are some typical uses of Exchange Data content?
Clients use our datasets to validate information provided by their custodians or as an additional source for verification of other data vendors. Some clients take our data through their STP software provider.
Our reference dataset is often used on trading platforms to cross verify identifiers codes.
What makes your content unique?
We have years of experience in emerging and frontier markets. We closely work with Stock Exchanges, Regulators and Central banks and have developed a global network of researchers and translators in local markets in order to comprehensively cover countries where obtaining transparent and accurate data is more difficult.
We also work closely with our clients, customizing our datasets as much as possible to ensure they only receive what they truly need.
How has your business changed in recent years? What changes do you expect in the coming years?
EDI was originally more equity orientated but since 2007 we have been working on providing comprehensive Fixed Income information. We have developed our Worldwide Fixed Income service and continually add new types of instruments to our coverage. We then started to cover bond pricing and lately we have built a huge online library of Fixed Income offering documents.
We intend to increase our fixed income coverage by adding global Mortgage Backed and Asset Backed securities.
What might surprise your customers to learn about Exchange Data?
Maybe that we translate data from 70 countries in 36 languages on a daily basis.
